what type of video equipment should i connect with satellite receiver to get about 7 output channels.?
i connected a FTA satellite system and at a position i have more than 10 good channels; i want to program my TV to pick each station on different tv channel ,like a hotel room where you can view channel of your choice not what is showing in another persons room nor the reception.
First you will need a receiver for each channel you want to watch, so if you want 10 channels to select from, then you need 10 receivers. Next you will need a 10 channel RF modulator to send the signals out on 10 different tv chanels. This will cost big $$$.
You can use one receiver and one modulator and split the signal to 10 tv’s but each tv will watch the same program. You could then us a wireless remote to control channel changing from the different rooms.
Dish Network receiver I have is hot and she got a DVD player. Does player gets affected?
I have a DISH Network receiver. The receiver is hot. On top of that I have a DVD player. Does the DVD player gets affected because the fund that is a bit hot. Or is that the DVD player still not working right?
If DVD Player is blocking any vents, I would recommend that was the receiver. If the receiver works with the heat, I am sure that the player will be fine.

I received a logitech harmony remote for Christmas. I have not removed it from package yet. Just wanting to know if it performs all the functions on a Directv brand dvr?

There is a database of many thousands of devices (download the harmony software, version 7) to check yours in particular. If it isn’t loaded, you can always program it yourself.

Check to make sure the SAP isnt on. Go to the channel with the spanish and hit the audio button on your remote…make sure sap is turned off. As far as the one with no sound it could be the same problem or another setting that mutes that certain channel. Good luck!

How do I create column titles in an excel table that angle the text up and to the right?
I have an excel table in which I have numerous columns, each with its own column title. I want to angle the text upwards to the right so i can fit in the various titles, but I can’t seem to figure it out.
Select the cells that you wish to format as such. Press CTRL-1
or go to the Format menu and select Cells.
In the format cells dialog box, click on the alignment tab.
In the orientation section, you can either adjust the angle by change the number or drag the arm extending from “Text” in the half clock display.

How can i combine my dish sat/ cable tv signal over a single coax cable?
I currently have a dish 500 satellite with a quad LNB. A single coax cable is running to my sat box. I also have a single cable tv signal running to a tv in a different room.
u can get what we call a diplexer, u will need 2. it looks like a 2 way splitter, put ur satellite in the one that says dc pass (might have a line on it) and cable or ant on the other end, the single end of the diplexer will be the line running towards ur tv. ..then at the tv remove the satellite line from box and put in single end of another diplexer. the dc pass end will go to sat in on satellite box and the other end will go to ant in on sat box. just turn off sat box and it will switch to cable/antenna. u can get these at best buy/ circut city

What power cable gauge do I use to hook up a car amplifier? Most amplifier kits appear to be under sized.?
Many of the complete amplifier kits, example rated for a 700 watt amplifier come with a 10 gauge power cable. Many of the gauge charts from the online car audio techs, would recommend a 4 gauge wire, but they sell the amp kits with the 10 gauge. I guess bigger is better, more efficient and safer for the installation, but I would expect them to add some * adjacent to the kit specs with their recommendation.

for subs i would go no smaller than 4gauge
remember that if you want to upgrade in the future you will have to remove all of the old wire if its not thick enough and its more time/cost effective to go with the thicker stuff from the gate and use a distribution block to down size the wire at the amp
