Do I need to purchase different Audio cables with my Component Video Cables?
According to BestBuy, I need to purchase specific audio cables to go along with a pack of Component cables. I had orginally thought this was unnecessary, since the video and audio signals are separate, thus using my regular Composite audio cables would work just fine. Can I just use my original composite cables for my audio?
Composite and Component are types of video signal, not Audio signal.
Audio are always RED (right) and WHITE (left).
Composite video is YELLOW (same as S-VHS)
Component video can be High Def, and is RGB: RED, BLUE and GREEN- the colours that make up the pixels.
So yes your current audio only cable will be fine, as long as you connect up correctly
