The compression brake calipers REAR 2000 Mustang?
Has anyone done the rear brakes on a mustang? I've done dozens of jobs brake, disc and drum. For some reason not to compress the rear caliper. I heard that is a special compression tool., And that has to rotate the piston clockwise. I was hoping that someone who has done could reassure me.
There is a tool used to compress the calipers. You later can get almost anywhere that sells the type of automatic parts.Ask the back of the shoe tool.It Mustang 'saw tools Bed / 3 / 8 unit in downtown tool. Each side has very little teeth on a set pattern.Find the model that fits the shoe piston.Slowly turn the piston in W / ratchet tool and to the piston is seated all the way in caliper.Install their pills and the clamp on the car.DO NOT use a "C" clamp to compress the piston back into the caliper, you will break the piston or the caliper or otherwise distort it.You ll never get the piston back in w / o the tool.It 'll run around of $ 10.00.I've seen more than a clamp destroyed trying to squeeze back into the fate caliper.Good.
