Can I connect an HDMI TV "to a HD receiver?

I have a HDMI (high definition multimedia interface) TV u can see his picture below, and im trying to connect my HD receiver ……… I will be able to do that??? The picture on my TV: http://www.sharp.net.nz/catalogue/prod_images/LC32AW5X_2599_image2.jpg Will I get a better picture quality once I set my TV? thanks for your time!

Most current HD receivers have a HDMI output, so it must be able to connect to your TV. As for image quality, it would be important to know what you are comparing the HD signal. For example, If a coaxial cable or composite (yellow video and red and white for audio), then you will see a big difference when viewing HD content. If compared with component video (red, blue and green only), it is unlikely you will see any improvement in image quality. When it comes to watching TV, IMO, most advantage of an HDMI or component cable can handle audio and video. If you were talking about 1080p and 7.1 Dolby TrueHD audio, etc (Bluray players) just want to connect them with HDMI 1.3.
