What happens to a microwave signal when it is received by a satellite?
Dave says that microwave signals ‘bounce’ off satellites. Sally says Dave is wrong. What happens to a microwave signal when it is received by a satellite?
Both are right:
- Most of the signal will indeed bounce off the satellite.
- However, some fraction of the signal will be absorbed by the satellite receiver. Otherwise, how could the satellite do anything with the signal?
