DirecTV has provided free occassionlly. If you currently subscribe the package of choice for a weekend, you can veiw the Extra channel package option (so if you enjoy the extra channels that you can update their base package) in some rare cases will also be a free preview at the Starz Super Pack and HBO and Cinemax.
