Can you give information regarding Single wire earth return power supply system?
A single wire comes from the electrical supplier. The “return” conductor is the earth.
1. SWER distribution is used mainly in rural areas.
2. It’s usually 33kV (19kV) & higher (Australia).
The secondary winding of the “end” transformer is usually centre tapped so that a single phase, 3 wire system is available.

Yes…it’s usually stepped down to 240 volts (Australia). Because the transformer is centre tapped, a choice of 2 voltages is available – 240v & 480v. Unfortunately, it is a single phase supply.
