Dish Network Dish with DIRECTV receiver?
I have the intention to install a TV in my back door this year and I'm looking for some technical help. I have Directv in my house, so I'm planning to take a normal receiver (no DVR or HD, it is 2 years old) in a spare room at the back door. I had the opportunity to save a dish network dish a work site (Dish Network 500). The part of the antenna is a dp plus digital LNBF. It has 2 "heads" who say 110 and 119. All I'm looking for is to get the major networks and ESPN (Big Ten Network perhaps if possible). Will I be able to combine these two pieces of equipment and keep it running?
The short answer is no. Dish Network and Directv are two different technologies and mesh. You can still use the reflector and change the LNBF directv, but as for the use of 110 and 119? These are specifically only dish. One LNBF can be bought on Ebay cheap.
