My cable-modem disconnects a lot.?

ok, so my cable modem is disconnected a lot lately, can occur every 30 minutes, or after a few hours, but here is the solution. first off, my cable line goes from about 20 feet across the room, around corners, a 2-way splitter, then line 1 to line television to cable modem box. Now the TV works perfect, without loss of signal reception clear, even when the modem is disconnected, the TV works fine. Here is how to fix the disconnection. I go to the outlet, disconnect the power cord, wait 10 seconds, the screw again. bingo, cable modem to connect. is a sign of this problem from the ISP? the output of the cable has problems? cable line has problems? What could be. One of their CATV Cable, black, silver-connectors. the divisor is a frequency divider 7 -7. and I checked the signal itself of the modems IP scanner and said that his perfect signal. The box is a ARRIS modem. I called my ISP, you can go out and check … in two weeks … I do not want to wait that long, so if any1 know has id appreciate.

Well, let me help with my personal experience with cable television and the Internet is through a cable. First, if you have a router attachment that you have not mentioned, set the router of a client lease time to 10000. Secondly, my cable TV in my house has an amplifier signal in the system that appears to increase television signals watchable. However, the modem must be plugged into service by the signal booster. Now, in my house, the master connector board is in my attic, and this forum is where you select the outlets to receive the pulse signal. So, while this can not resolve your problem, I hope that gives you an idea of how everything works. Good luck

hi, can someone share ideas if the pioneer vsx-5000 can be hook up with cable tv. thanks?

thanks, i did connect the tv cable to the the receiver catv input. but i hear or see anything. what selection do i need to select?

Just connect the “audio out” plugs (should be a red and a white) from your cable box to the receiver. Whatever audio input you use on the receiver (cd, tv, ect..) is what you’ll switch it to when you want to hear the tv sound. I don’t really see a need to run the video through your receiver, so just keep that hooked up straight to your TV from your cable box.

Best way to configure my CCTV / CATV?

Hello, I'm in a school that runs a TV show in the morning. I'm not sure how better to create our television to minimize loss. We have: 50 dB Amplifier Saw Filter Modulator Blonder Tongue Hi Pass filter several splitters Today we have our video source, which starts out as RGB. That happens by Blonder tongue and sent via coaxial cable about 100 feet above, a control booth. There (The picture looks good at that point by the way) the signal (channel 3 of the modulation) is combined with cable TV with a splitter. In an entry in the divisor is our Channel 3 programming, and the other is the TV AC high-pass filter (for channel 3 can enter .. ((that's our theory))). This combined signal is set 50 dB amplifier. The output is placed in a 3-way splitter. Two of them what we consider that the classrooms of high priority, and the third will be a lower priority (unless used) Area congregation. How can we make our system better? Thanks! Nick

Nick – It's hard to say exactly how this has connected from their description, but I will try to help. First of all, if I were you, I would like to make this setup a channel 3 only closed system circuit if possible. In this way, you can send your program to the modulator and then to the amplifier and then to the classroom. When troubleshooting, always break the system even the simplest connection and go from there. Try video and audio to an amplifier and modulator to TV output with everything else removed – is better? If so, keep it that way if possible. If you need cable TV channels also should really reschedule for a free channel modulator is higher than ch3 – maybe 88 or something.

Can someone explain what a CATV drop amplifier hooks into?

Living in an apartment, not to sure that I am getting the full cable signal. In one room, the tv did not have a good signal, picture and sound was somewhat fuzzy. I hooked into the TV external jack a clock radio as an external speaker with a built in antenna within the plug cord. The reception improvement is much better. Should I think that the connection from cable input to the tv, then the connection from the tv to the clock radio amplifies the signal due to the built in antenna, which would now be tied into a digital signal? If you can sort this out for me, it would be greatly appreciated.

Are you actually using CABLE? Or are you just attempting to get local TV channels by connecting to Cable’s antenna wiring ?

It sounds like you are just attempting to get the local TV channels with your setup, because the behavior of the system acts EXACTLY like you are….

And if you are PAYING for cable, then they have a bad connection to your apartment, and a DROP AMP will boost your signal, after they test your line for broken connections.

If you are only trying to get the local channels, then the CABLE connection is going to SHIELD your local TV signals from getting to your TV set properly…

You would want to disconnect the Cable from your TV set, and purchase a tabletop antenna to get your local TV channels.

The maximum length of coaxial cable in the outside plant (OSP) distribution?

Most cable systems are HFCs. Need pointers to the maximum length of RJ6 or RG-58A / U coaxial cable. I understand that there will dB drop loss, but I wanted to model only a drop in the first place then add up to 500 homes.

There is no limit, if you use relays / repeaters, that is absolutely should do to hit 5, and much least 500 houses. But only a straight line, without breaks, a good protector, stay away from inteference environment must be able to run a mile and a half with good cable.

TFC (Times Fiber Communications) vs CommScope? CATV vs satellite?

TFC (Times Fiber Communications) vs CommScope? CATV vs satellite? I just paying $ 30 for a roll of 1000 feet of TFC Analog [http://www.timesfiber.com/] RG6 Quad Shield. Black PVC, flame retardants, 60-40 single released on the label: T6Q-VBV Series 6 Quad NEC 820 CATV (UL) 18AWG Published Jul/07 E86650-2 printed on the cable: TFC-T10 File No. E86650-2 CATV (UL) 6 Series 18AWG FT xxxx How CommScope compared to TFC? Which is better? The cable is rated for cable TV [1 GHz], but this cable can be used for satellite television [3 GHz]?

@ 1 GHz, attenuation is 9db/100 feet. @ 3 GHz, attenuation is near 18db/100 feet. (That's not twice – db registration is not linear. 9dB Additional loss is almost 10 times.) Can I use satellite? Yes, if you are wearing a pair of feet. If you need 1,000 feet, the attenuation @ 3GHZ is 178db. What it means is that, technically, there is no signal at their end, but if the power cord with a 1KW transmitter instead of a satellite dish, you probably signal will not see enough to know how bad it is. LMR-1700FR not be bad for the 1,000-foot run @ 3 GHz – Only 19db loss. And at least one new mortgage about your house. (It's $ 20/foot, and accessories are a few hundred dollars each. But it is not necessary to a feed of halogen.) OIA, 1,000 meters to 3 GHz is not you want to do. RG6 And it's not something you want to 3GHz.

Can I add my TV cable?

I have a 2001 television magnovox, however, television / cable TV option is not Available ……. However, I have an RF modulator (the little converter thingy) and I was wondering if you connect the modulator to the TV and then connect the cable to the modulator I would (CATV no option / TV modulator or) I can not be tested because I have cable but ……..

The best solution to your problem is an old VTR. It acts as a cable tuner and sent out the signal as baseband video (composite) or a standard signal RF Channel 3. Adjust the TV to channel 3 and tune channels with the VCR. You can purchase a TV converter box for cable. A similar one can be found flea markets and garage sales for almost nothing. An RF modulator is not the work of an RF modulator will, but a VCR or cable box does the same and are more Cheap. This should be a small set like almost any 13 "or more than 2001 TV has a CATV / TV option.

How would I Fix my torn Coaxial CATV 18 AWG cable for FiOs?

My cable that I use to get TV in my room was chewed by my dog and I’ve tried to schedule a repair with Verizon but I can’t understand their operators. Is there any way I could fix this at home with normal tools?

Call them during the day, my wife did and didn’t get any Indian operators.

CATV splitter is a need to be grounded?

if the divisor is the divisor for the first time in an antenna, cable or line YES such, as the first response said, an increase may enter the cable line. ???? Why not drop, then? the further increase in TV and Tuner damage if the tab is not, even if the TV is connected to a STRIP SURGE. I repped a lot of television damaged by lighting. land that is the only way to deflect the rays increase. he still will not protect you in case of a direct hit.
