I want to terminate a 25mm cable in a distribution board. The board wont take termination bigger than 10mm. I intend to use cable compression connectors to reduce cable size to 10mm or a scotch-cast. Can you advice the implication of this i.e voltage between the feed and point of connection to the joint.
I feel this will be irrelevant because i intend to run the 100mm for 3-5m then join it to the 25mm cable before the cable starts its long run.
Kindly advice please.
You question is a little confusing. If your board will not take the 25mm cable then it will not likely take the current that the cable is rated for. On the other side of things, by reducing your cable size at any point will reduce its current carrying capacity.
I have experienced times where the cable size has been increased because of volt drop and so doesn’t actually require its full current carrying capacity. In this case, it may be OK to reduce it at some point providing the source protection will not allow the current to exceed the “reduced” point. The problem is that I don’t know of any recognised connectors to do this so your best bet would be to get a board that will take your cable and avoid any risk.

What connectors do I need to extend a cable from the antenna on an exterior wall?
I put a TV in the back room and you want run the cable where the front hangs over the wall at the back. The problem is that the cable a few feet too short. I have a little more than cable, but I know what type of connectors that lay between the two – man to woman? Gold plated? waterproof? coaxial? please be very clear what you need to know what to buy exactly cheers
I found the best method, and I think I've tried loads, is to do what TV engineers told me it was the best way to splice tape joint.Bare twist both ends, turn the center of the nuclei together and then wrap regular electrical PVC tape (obviously match the wire color if confirmed), on this work from the front to the outside again twisted together and then turn these wrap around the core recorded more just then aronud tape rotation and go back over the outer braid, ribbon to wrap a couple of times about it and ready! LOW RESISTIVITY a waterproof joint and perfect images.
By putting an F connector on the coaxial cable has braided cable cut?
I'm trying to coax F connector on the coaxial cable. I am using the following instructions: http://www.hometech.com/learn/coaxterm.html I have everything cut as directed. My question is: Can twisted wire cut flush with the outer layer of plastic or bend backward around the outer layer? "And stay foil wrapped around the 2nd white plastic interior or aluminum foil is cut flush?
Cut the twisted, but do not cut it all off. Bend / bend back. It will contact the outside of the connector and be grounded. Act as a return signal and a shield to help prevent outside interference. You can cut the entire sheet.
I have a 4 month old male german shepherd puppy. He seems to be a bit of a worrier.?
When I take him for a walk, and it doesn’t matter where we go, whether it be around our neighborhood, or on a trail in the woods. He will eventually grab hold of the leash and try to pull me back home. If I coax him on a bit further, he will follow, but in protest, and when we do turn to go back home, he is like a bullet, like a horse heading back to the barn for food, Is this a common trait in a german shepherd pup, to be a little unsure??????????
Just a homebody I guess.
A pup is very curious about things but does find security in home.
Be patient – it will come around.
How to Make a BNC Connector for a Coax Video Cable
I have a 96 Intrepid, and I wonder if the AC system is R134a or R12?
I just swap the engines and plug into the new compressor is a plug and its alleged plug to connect to 2 points for that one problem, but I did not even know if it can be configured to use an R12 or R134a seems to have quick connect fittings the compressor at the compressor age too. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
If you have a fast connection setup in it, then is 134 Installing R12 is smaller and has threads in it

i have a vcr dvd recorder hooked up to my tv. it doesnt have a coax input so i need to run composite cables to it. unfortunately, im running a coax cable to my tv and the box setup all by itself so it sets there idle. is there some kind of cable or adapter that i can get to convert the coax into the composite cables?
There is a converter that costs around 60 dollars to convert your input. Its available at any bestbuy in the home theater section near the monster and rocket fish tv cables.
What Polarities are the Red and White connectors for TV’s?
like the connectors you use to plug in VCR’s, Video Games, sound systems…
i mean like is the inner Point on the plug negative? Or is the outside ring part negative?
Thanks!
For RCA connectors, the pin/hole is the signal and the outside ring is ground.
Generally there’s no true polarity although the pin/hole would correspond to positive and the ground to negative, but if you’re connecting speakers or what not, just be consistent with both so there’s a common ground.
Connect a 120mm fan case of a male 4-pin female connector?
My case fan is a 120mm fan. It has red and black wires leaving out the fan and has a female power connector 4-pin on the end that also divides a 4-pin male connector. Obviously you can connect the 4-pin female end of the power supply, but what is the male end there? The only other connection I see as the next behind the front of my case where the power buton it. That one has a 4 female pin connection to a male. I just do not connect both Male connectors for power supply and leave males?
It can be left hanging if desired. While not touch any metal, fine. The purpose of it is so the fan will not "steal" one of the connections of the power supply. Some people need all they can get, plus more. The connector from the front of the case is probably a fan in the front. You can connect, like you just made for the back. Perhaps it is for some other function that is the case, but if you do not have a problem with heat, not much, anyway.
When crimping connectors onto coaxial cable, do you include the foil wrap?
The coax I have has minimal braided wire, but a foil like wrap under the braid and over the insulation. The amount of braided wire almost seems too minimal for a good connection. Should I include the foil in the crimp, or cut it off with the outer sheath?
You cut the foil away from the crimp. The few strands of wire in the crimp will connect the foil to the ground connection of the crimp. You also want to trim that foil back from the center conductor plastic carrier to avoid any possibility of shorting out the center conductor.
While you’re at it make sure you have 75 ohm coax not 50 ohm. They look exactly the same but will give you an impedance mismatch on a TV. You want RG59 cable not RG58 or RG62.
