Digital video?

Is it possible to rotate a digital video file taken with a digital camera 90 degrees from portrait to landscape so that it can be viewed without standing the TV on it’s side.

it will cost you. need to feed it in to your harddrive and work on with one of several software packages. too expensive for my blood. check at adobe. they are the best but not the cheapest. i have never done it. just read about it. cannot do it without software. would be a big project to correct one small segment. i just cannot understand why you recorded on its dang side?????????

can anyone recommend me a good pocket digital camera which got a hot shoe on top of it?

I am searching for a pocket digital camera which has good features of professional photographer’s necessity and got a hot shoe on top of it. My purpose is to create a small home studio using a POCKET digital camera. Please, recommend me any type of the camera. Thanks guys!

Here is the result of a search …

There are no ultra-compact camera with hot shoes … due to the lack of manual camera controls and the tiny sensors found on “pocket” cameras, none can be considered professional.

Of all the cameras, only the Canon G9, Nikon Coolpix P5100 & P5000, Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX3, allows the photographer some control over the f/stops and shutter speeds.

Not all DTV televisions manufactured after a certain date have digital tuners? What is that date?

I have a Magnavox HDTV purchased in November 2008. Apparently has no digital tuner.

March 1, 2007 was the date. Are you sure you do not have ATSC and QAM?

How do you get images into a digital video tape to my computer?

I borrow a camera from friends and want to upload my material in the digital video tape to my computer for editing. All I have with it is a USB card I had to magically fit into the camera, but did nothing. Is there anything I do I allow on my computer? the camera is a Sony DCR-TRV22 NTSC also says it is a MINI DV Digital Handycam.

Most modern digital camcorders have a FireWire port. Connect a FireWire cable compaible thats on the computer (assuming your PC has a port) and then starting a program video capture. The control program of the camera remotely via cable.

Will a DTV converter box to replace the cable service?

I hate to pay so much for cable TV every month! I just need news channels (local). If I get a converter box and cancel my cable, can I see clear local channels?

It depends on how far you are away from the transmission tower and good antenna system you have. Here is the place to realize that. http://www.antennaweb.org/aw/welcome.aspx

How can I get my computer – o/s XP Pro – to recognise my digital camera so I can upload the pictures from it.?

It seems that the computer cannot find the drivers. I tried using a card reader instead (that supposedly did not need software) but the computer keeps telling that it can’t find the software for this device either.
I have already installed all the software supplied with the camera. It is listed in the device manager, but with a question mark against it. But the scanner & camera wizard cannot find it.

Usually you get some software on a disk that comes with the camera to enable you to do this. Often this includes drivers and other stuff, e.g., simple photo editing software etc.

If you haven’t got the disk look up the camera manufacturers website to download what you need. If the camera manufacturers haven’t got a website – what the heck are you doing trying to use a piece of sh1t like that to take photos with?

Why not my job analog converter box in Grand Rapids MI?

We tried, and religious stations receive only about 4 of them and that's all. Yes I attached an antenna to the TV. Now it would make a difference if the apartment is partially underground, the lack of a better word. Thank you.

You may need a box (even outside) of the antenna. Or you may have to direct your antenna to a different address. Check www.antennaweb.org

You can run a digital TV, when connected to HDTV converter?

Panasonic (digital). LG HDTV converter hooked to now, we can used with HDTV digital TV converter?

> You can run a digital TV, when connected to HDTV converter? Yes, but most People do not do that. Digital TVs and has a digital tuner built into them. If you use a coupon for the type of Conveter (I guess that's what you mean) you just see a non-HD picture quality. The only reason you might want to use a discount rate converter with an HDTV is if the converter had a tuner that was better for receiving marginal signals. To use an external tuner and still want to see a high definition resolution picture, you need to use HD tuner that extends around $ 160.

Will my Vizio HDTV with digital tuner decode more channels after the DTV transition?

Now, for example, it only receives the analog signal, and a few hd signals that are broadcast along with the analog(ie: channel 9-1 is WGNHD and it looks great). My question is that ESPNHD is on 173, which is not readable w/o the Comcast box. Will that change after the Digital Transition so that I can receive higher number channels without the Comcast box?

The FCC digital transition mandate will affect the full power, over-the-air broadcast stations. These tend to be your local channels like ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and WGN as an example. The FCC does not mandate that your cable or satellite operator carry the HD versions of these local channels, though many operators do as you have seen. The FCC does mandate that the cable or satellite operators carry these local channels in an analog format as long as they offer any analog channels. You will not see the premium channels (like ESPN HD) after the digital transition because of the FCC digital transition mandate. Your access to premium channels is strictly a business decision make by your cable or satellite operator and is not governed by the FCC digital transition mandate.
