My ball pythons cage humidity is only @30 (should b around 60). How do I get it up w/o misting all the time?

I’m using a Zilla Deluxe Snake Kit cage with two lights on top,
it comes with a humidity and temperature gage
the lights are absorbing a lot of water,
but I can’t turn them off or the cage will get too cold for her
we also have a water dish in there for her, but that’s not helping with the humidity

The best way to handle humidity is to have a range, so that your snake can choose where she’d like to be. If you have an open screen top, placing a piece of plexiglass or other clear plastic over a part of it (not too close to the lights though!) can help a LOT. Also, a heating pad underneath the water dish will help too. Live plants go a long way (some pet stores sell these) in maintaining humidity, as does humidifying moss.

What I would do if I were you is put plexiglass over the 1/3 of the lid on the opposite side of the lights, then put 1-2 live plants over there (should be $3 each) in a corner with some humidifying moss ($5) and mist those daily, mainly just to keep the plants alive. This should give your snake a humid area for when she’s shedding/feeling dry, a dry arid area over by the lights, and a range inbetween.

Oh and please don’t take her water dish out like the other person said. I think they misunderstood your question.
