New Directv Plus HD DVR?
Anyone have one? How to search the recordings in high definition? any errors?
The recordings are more or less the same as what is seen directly through the IRD. only had my DVR to restart a couple of times due to software updates.

Need to hook up PS3 to HDTV. TV does not have HDMI hookup, but I have High Def DirecTV. Can I have PS3 in HD?
Can I use a component video cable and some kind of adapter through my digital video output from my PS3? The TV comes in High Definition, but only up to 1080i. There is a DVI slot in the back of my TV that isn’t being used and also a HDMI output on my DirecTV HD-DVR receiver.
Is it even possible to hook up my PS3 in High Def? I can’t use the HDMI cable, because I have no HDMI inputs on the TV or DirecTV receiver, only an output on the receiver.
Yes the PS3 is in high-definition. And if you have an HDTV, you’d want to get the best quality out of your PS3. Since you don’t have an HDMI port, I suggest you buy some component cables for the PS3. The PS3 does work with them and I’m sure your t.v. will take them too. Check these cables out:

What if you connect a high definition TV with standard cables?
For example, an Emerson 32 "Class LCD HDTV, LC320EM9. I connect with a wire cable normal time Warner Cable. Most current HD receivers have a HDMI output, so it must be able to connect to your TV. As for image quality, it would be important to know what you are comparing the HD signal. For example, If a coaxial cable or composite (yellow video and red and white for audio), then you will see a big difference when viewing HD content. If compared with component video (red, blue and green only), it is unlikely you will see any improvement in image quality. When it comes to watching TV, IMO, most advantage of an HDMI or component cable can handle audio and video. If you were talking about 1080p and 7.1 Dolby TrueHD audio, etc (Bluray players) just want to connect them with HDMI 1.3.

You would still have your other charges like if you have protection plan or more than one receiver in your house or extra packages like HBO or a sports subscription. When you start broadcasting television channels only in HD?
Currently the TV stations are sending analog and digital signals.All old analog signals are turned off June 12.2009. After the digital transition of television stations to switch to HD? High definition digital transition are two different things.Please not get the two confused with another.I know everything about digital transition.I want to know about television stations broadcasting in HD only.
The only mandate was to start broadcasting in digital. No obligation to broadcast in HD and I have not heard anything planned along these lines. The FCC needed an excuse to clarify some frequencies of the television allocation so they could be used for other proposed as public safety. The switch to digital did. Certainly, the digital signal is much better than the old analog and, after using a converter box to change it back to my old analog TV.

Why is my TV saying it can not receive the HD signal from DIRECTV?
Earlier this year, I realize that my signal Setup menu 1080p box allows me to click (choose) on it. Once I do I get a small message at the bottom of my screen TV says: "TV can not get the signal of 1080." Why is that? My TV is high definition. My receiver is a DirecTV DVR receiver high definition. I receive High-Def DIRECTV programming package. I have a Sony Blu-ray that allows me to watch HD movies on my 1080p television. What gives here?
It's simple … the signal meter is telling you that the dish needs to be adjusted. You only receive 60% or 75% of the bandwidth so no can provide an HD signal to your TV. I had one of the screws fall out of alignment plate housing last year and I realized watching TNT and then went to DTT and had no image. It was the same for about 7 of my high-definition stations. I called and the guy was here in two days to fix it. Chick earlier that wants to go to Cox Cable …. biggest mistake of his life. Just call DirecTV and have come out and fix it. Mine lasted 4 years before I had to call for service and I was 6 receptors (2 HD). When signal is lost which means there is a problem. Just do not sit around and get mad. Call someone and tinker ding dong.
