A stainless steel band (coefficient of linear expansion = 17.3 10-6°C-1; Young’s modulus = 18 1010 N/m2) is placed around a tooth. It is essentially circular with an initial mean radius of 5.0 mm, a height of 3.6 mm, and a thickness of 0.46 mm. If the band just fits snugly over the tooth when heated to a temperature of 77°C, what is the tension in the band when it cools to a temperature of 37°C?
????N
The relaxed length decreases by a factor dL/L = 17.3E-6*40.
Stress S = 18E10 * dL/L
Tension = strap area * S = 200.54 N
(Strap area = 0.0035*0.00046)

Your chances are very good based on what you say here. There are a lot of things that go into admissions other than what you have listed above: recommendations, essays, etc. But you sound very strong. I am not quite sure why you insist on putting your weighted GPA. Weighted GPA’s are completely useless. The unweighted GPA is far more useful. However, you do give a class rank, which helps. On the other hand, the class rank you gave makes no sense. It would imply that your school has around 21,000 students, which is about four times larger than the largest school in the United States. So you must have made a mistake there. (Are you comparing yourself to everyone at your school? or did you mis-type it? or are you 15 out of 248?) But if you are in fact first in your class, then that is a good GPA.
So, not seeing your entire application, I would say you have a very good chance at getting into both schools.
a satellite television receiver with worldwide coverage?
I work in a large boat and we have satellite TV coverage worldwide wide. Our television is PAL and NTSC, so I can use a sky box to pick up coverage from DirecTV. I see that are encrypted using VideoGuard? Me realize I still have to change the LNB to correspond with the United States have polizisation circular. I'm not after picking up a Sky TV when I get to States America only want to use the Sky receiver to capture the local Direct TV channel, to 110W. I am aware that the card would have to change.
I am sure that this does not be possible due to the fact that a sky box receives its signal from the Astra and the foot print for this signal only covers the UK and parts of Europe in terms how big your dish is …. ie if you go to Spain you need a larger dish to capture more of the trace. So on that basis, I'm sure it used work in the United States …..

sorry guys, another algebra q. … standard form linear equations?
How do I form a linear equation in "standard"? know how to do slope-INTERSEPT and point-slope, but what is standard. I must have lost this example, "The line through (1, -1) with a slope of -4 "INTERSEPT slope is" y = 4x-3 and pointslope is "and +1 = -4 (x +4)" How can I make a standardized format? my wrong, that should read -4 (x-1) typo
Indeed, for y = 4x + 3, form and pointslope is + 1 = -4 (x – 1). standard form Ax + By = C where A> 0, A, B and C are coprime. The standard form y = 4x + 3 is 4x + y = 3

Is it possible to receive both linear and circular polarity with the same lnb?
Assume 2 diffrent satellites are located at the same orbit possitions lets say 26 degrees east and their beam is focused to the country you live(you can receive both signals of the satellites). but the channells of one satellite is of linear polarity(vertical and horizontal) and the other satellite is of circuler polarities(right and left).Is is possible to receive all the channells from both satellites with one dish pointed in one direction?What should you do to the LNB?
Both satellites are of C-band
Yes check out this page http://sadoun.com/Sat/Products/Invacom/Invacom-QPH-031-Quad-lnbf.htm
The lnb has 4 outputs. 2 linear and 2 Circular. Not sure of the size of dish that you will need though.

Please help me? I’ve been sick form school for almost a week, so i had some classmates bring me my homework yesterday, but i do not understand it at all.
– Substitution Mehtod – Solve the system using the substitution method.
1. -2x+y=6
4x-2y=5
2, 5x+3y=4
5x+y=16
3. 3x-y=4
5x+3y=9
those are just the first three. The next section is….
– Linear Combination method – solve the system using the linear combo method -
1. 3x+2y=6
-6x-3y=-6
2. 7x-4y=-3
2x+5y=-7
3. 5x+6y=-16
2x+10y=5
and those are the first 3 from the second section. Please help me? Easy 10 points
Are you sure question 1 was typed accurately?
Substitution method means express one value in terms of the other and use that to create an expression with one unknown value, from where you can solve.
5x+3y=4
5x+y=16 rearrange for y. y = 16 – 5x
Sub into first equation
5x + 3(16 – 5x) = 4
5x + 48 – 15x = 4
44 – 10x = 0
44 = 10x
4.4 = x
3x-y=4 rearrange for y. y = 4 -3x
5x+3y=9
sub for y in 2nd equation
5x + 3(4 – 3x) = 9
5x + 12 -9x = 9
12 – 4x = 9
3 – 4x = 0
3 = 4x
x = 3/4 = 0.75
3x+2y=6
-6x-3y=-6
Linear method means adding or subtracting equations to isolate an unknown value. Sometimes you need to multiply an expression by a constant to get a corresponding value that will cancel out.
double first equation
6x + 4y = 12 ( I now have two expressions with 6x, one +6x the other -6x. Combining the two by addition will eliminate them)
6x – 6x + 4y – 3y = 12 + 6
y = 6
sub into first equation
3x + 2(6) = 6
3x + 12 = 6
3x = -6 (subtract 12 from both sides)
x = -2 (divide both sides by 3)
