Is there a device to transmit a TV signal cable?

There is a special room in my home has an awkward location situation of making the cable. I would like to create television through the room making no attempt to hide the ugly wire along the wall. Is there a device that can connect to the power and transmit a signal across the room? Would it be a device for reducing image / sound quality or add a significant delay? Does any idea that can be fixed easily?

The best (and simplest) choice is to hire an electrician to install an additional jack where you want the output to be. This, of course, assumes that there is access to the upper space of your home. If this is not possible, you can run the cable behind the motherboard or buy some hollow molding store household items which can hide the cable.

How can I increase wireless internet signal in my apartment?

How can I increase the wireless signal strength in my apartment? The building has a sort of wireless set up for everyone to use … we are on the ground level and the signal isn't that good. We have a router is anyway to make it a repeater or something to get a better signal? The access point is owned by the apartment complex and I) do not know where is b) dont think im allowed to modify it. Can I use the linksys router which now has to repeat or boost the signal anyway

If you could run a cable from the router, yes. Otherwise, no. "Every apartment has a Ethernet cable connection as well? You can connect the AP that, and disable NAT and DHCP.

Why does a cable signal splitter sometimes not work with the internet, and sometimes it does?

I tried changing splitters and changing positions on the splitter. The cable TV works, but the internet won’t work unless I put the main cable on it. This is an intermittent problem.
Thanks, but I tried changing the cable too. Since I posted, I tried again with the same configuration, and now it is working. A little while ago it wouldn’t without coming through the main cable.

It’s probably a signal strength problem that may be intermittent as well. I know that my cable company ended up putting an amplifier on my cable inside the house instead of a splitter to improve the signal.

I’d suggest you call the cable company and get someone to check it out. For what you’re paying, you deserve to have it work the way you want all the time.

Let me add that I had the same exact problem as you are describing. Definitely get a tech to your house to get it fixed.

Data Transfer Question?

I have an old Windows 98 computer can not load Windows. I wonder if I connect a null modem cable or Laplink to connect that computer to another computer to upload the files, because there are files that I would like to access, but can not because Windows does not load. It will be a data transfer lets me see the files on another computer, or is there another approach? Both the computer that Windows does not load and I want to transfer data to run in Windows 98 and has 64 MB of memory.

You have several options. 1. You can try booting into "Safe Mode". You can reach this option by repeatedly hitting F8 when the computer starts up. Safe mode will most likely not allow you access to the Internet or to other machines, so you're only option will be to copy data to a removable drive (USB key, floppy discs, external drive, etc.). 2. If even so you will get insurance, then you can try Remove the hard drive, buy an external hard drive chassis (the computer store will know what you're talking about when you request it) and then connect that to a new computer chassis via USB or Firewire. There is a third option … slave hard drive of your old equipment, but most likely more complicated than you want.

How can you tell if your cable modem is defective?

My cable internet is always down.. Then I would have to go unplug my cable from my modem and turn it off and on for a while before the interent will work again…. Then the internet would only work for about 20 minutes or less, then it becomes down again.
My modem shows that it can receive, but it cannot send out. Does this mean it is defective or is it a problem with the actual cable wires or the cable company?

jay is on the right track. your isp can help diagnose if the problem is your cable modem. process of elimination can help here too if you know someone with a similar setup – borrow their modem and see if you are still having the issue.

What kind of cable modem should I buy to use with Comcast digital voice?

I use it with Comcast Digital Voice. You are renting has an outlet for a small telephone cable, in addition to the Ethernet cable. We would not have to rent the modem more. I know they sell adapters phone, but I do not want me wrong. Any suggestions? Thanks for your help!

Do you want a Motorola EMTA whether or ARRIS. But keep in mind that all existing DOCSIS EMTA is 2 and not DOCSIS 3. That means they work only with Internet speeds of 16 Mbps or lower. So if the Internet speed is a concern you may want to keep the rent until d3 EMTA version is available in the market to buy.

My BSNL broadmand wi-fi modem(model: WA3002-g1, type2/4) has a fluctuating signal strength. how to solve?

The signal strength of the modem goes to null in a few min after connecting and my laptop says “Out of network range”. Within 30-45 seconds, the signal reappears but till then, the connection is lost. I have to connect to the broadband again. I face this signal strength problem every 5-7 min repeatedly.

I got the modem replaced within warranty period. But again the same happened with the new one! The signal prob happens even if i sit in a close proximity of 10 feet !! The MODEM WORKS PERFECTLY FINE WHEN I ATTACH THROUGH LAN CABLE. and there is no prob with ADSL link.

Is this modem a failure??
Does it have to anything to do with the modes it works on? (like bridge mode, PPPoE)
Can anyone suggest anything?

Update Modem Firmware or get it repaired.
