If I dilute the Ultra Violet dye(manic panic), will it be a nice toner?
I want my hair to be as white as snow. Right now, it’s platinum blonde or very pale yellow. Sally’s doesn’t sell Virgin Snow, so can I dilute the Ultra Violet with conditioner and get the same effect? Anybody try this? And would I dilute it about 2:1? If it works that would be saving me a lot of product and money.
It may work, but I wouldn’t dilute with conditioner. Use water. And 2:1 may not be enough. I think I would start with something like 20:1 at first… I think that Violet is extremely strong!
The only thing to do is do a strand test, just like they do in a salon. You won’t know until you do it…. and if it’s wrong, it’s too late. So you apply it only to a small strand somewhere it doesn’t show, and see how that works. If it’s too strong, dilute further… if not enough, you can mix a different one. If it all goes wrong, it will only be in one small strand. But if you do the whole head… Oh, I don’t want to think about it!!
