How I can connect a high definition DVR, DVD recorder w / HDMI output and an HDTV?

The HD DVR and DVD recorder only has an HDMI port, while the HDTV has 2. Should I run a component connection for HD DVR to DVD recorder and then run a connection HDMI from the recorder to the TV? Also, I'm not sure if this would work because it is an HDMI output, but what about getting an HDMI splitter and connecting the DVD recorder. Then I connect the HD DVR to DVD recorder with HDMI connection and connect the DVD recorder to the TV w / an HDMI connection.

The DVD recorder will not will have an HDMI input, because it is a protected source. This means that you can not record from an HDMI input. Just connect the HDMI cables of both devices directly the TV. If you want to record from the recorder satilite its going to have to use S-video.

Does anyone know of a way to keep more than 100 hours worth of shows with a Direct TV Plus DVR?

We bought one of these recently, but is keen to keep some programs permanently. Is there a way to transfer them to a computer or a DVD?

I recommend buying a DVD recorder. Simply connect your DVR to the DVD recorder and record what shows you want. What do all the time and easy. I will give you a link to look at some prices. I have HD DVR and large DirecTVs discs. Just make sure you write to the same input configuration. The manual with the DVD recorder you buy explain that.

Bell ExpressVu 9200 receivers – does anyone have problems with HDMI port image is black and / or lose the sound?

I have a bell express 9200 vu receiver problems with the HDMI port. If you wiggle just right, you get the picture and sound. Most often, I get nothing but a black screen. Bell acknowledges the problem but you want to buy a new receiver or refurbished. Say they are working on the problem and want to run the components. The problem is that I have 5 cables that run through my wall. There is no problem with the cables that had my dad 9200 test my cables and it worked well. Is the port. Does anyone have any suggestions? I have communicated with the bell and not give me a hand, because they say the problem is "close." I have no idea where the correction is coming. Not under warranty so now what?

Yes, this sucks. Is it still under warranty? If so, Bell must fix an appropriate manner using HDMI, or refund your $ $ $ so I can have something that works. If it is not under warranty, I think they eat it. Have you complained to the dealer where you purchased it?

Yes, I have had nothing but problems with Direct TV DVR. I'm in my room (in about 2 or 3 years) and was having problems too. I hate to get another because I lose face in the things I have it. I wonder if the High Definitions are having the same problem. Dan

How I can connect my DVD player, dual tuner DVR cable box and an A / V receiver to my HDTV?

I have a DVR Comcast dual tuner, HDTV Vizio, Panasonic DVD / VCR and Kenwood A / V receiver How I can hook them all together? Right now are all individually connected to the TV so it is impossible to establish the video on the screen and I can not get the A / V receiver to work only with the TV.

It depends on your input and output is in each component. If the DVR is not HD then connect the yellow cable TV and the red and white for the receiver. If it is HD then use an HDMI cable or component cables. The DVD will be the same. If you have optical audio output on your TV, then use it. Connect all components TV then use an optical cable from TV to receiver. Now the TV's audio will play in the receiver, no matter what you're seeing.

"I can record from DVR to computer via USB instead of installing a TV tuner card in my computer?

As for the tuners USB TV on ebay is confusing. Many look like they just accept the signal from the air. I need a suggestion for the model that allows me to connect directly to your computer DVR hopefully not too expensive. Thanks!

They accept a radio frequency signal – most of the DVR has a channel 3 or 4 output channels – which will tuners. If the DVR has a USB video output (and a driver for the team – there should be one for the version of operating system you are running), could use a USB port – but I doubt that any DVR equipped with USB video output. I made a thorough study of available tuners a few months ago, before I bought one. I decided by Hauppauge 950-Q. I've been using for months with Windows 7 WMC, works very well. (Earlier versions of WMC did not handle HDTV.) The software that comes with the 950-Q is not large (you may have more harsh words for it), but use it only in 1 channel (channel 3 or 4), that would not matter. And if you wanted to use in cable or an antenna, WMC is a pleasant experience.

What are the similarities and differences of Direct TV DVR TiVo HD compared with HD?

After moving to a new apartment complex we are forced to leave our current cable company and go with the complex has a contract with – use dish DVR and we're not happy with it. Customer Ser Tivo for over 4 years, we are looking for something similar to Tivo. Direct TV seems to be the closest, but before we commit, we wanted to get some feedback.

The only benefits of a DVR TiVo DVR through any other is that it is in networking and user interface and user interface / display ability to suggest similar to what we have been recording. While I have never had Dish Network, so I can not comment on their service. However, DIRECTV is constantly improving and enriching their software to add functionality (and cost much less than Tivo). I am a beta tester in its program of avant-garde. These are some of the new capabilities should begin regular users see you soon. http://www.satelliteguys.us/directv-cutting-edge-ce-discussion-forum CE: (0×034D) – Left Menu appearance EC 21:01: 21:01 (0×034D) – Support for Linksys Wireless Adapter WET610N CE: 21:03 (0×353/0×354) – MRV is back! Does anyone use the windows media center as a pvr (dvr) and how does it work with cable?

was wondering how do you use it. i know you need a tv tuner ( any recommendations for a good one?) . so would you hook up your cable to the tuner and would it show the guide. and it it a decent pvr? i was going to buy the160gb from sony but was wondering if i could just get away with hooking up my computer to my cable and tv and using it instead. i’m not technically savvy so any info on setting up a media center would be helpful. also i was wondering if anyone streams movies, tv shows, etc through their computer (via various sites & which do you use) as i wouldn’t mind getting rid of my cable altogether- that’s $120 bill that i could get rid of.

Hauppauge 950Q tuner.

I’ve been using it for a few years. If you have the disk space to hold the shows you record, it’s as good as any other recorder. Just plug a cable into the tuner, the same way you’d plug it into a TV set, set things up (I watch live too) and have fun.

As far as setting up the media center, the default settings work fine for me. (The guide always starts on Channel 44, other than that no complaints.)

I prefer having the shows and channels stay the same, so I pay the cab;e bill (although it’s not $160 even with the internet service I get through it.)

Tuner:
I researched a lot of them before I settled on the 950Q. It gets warm (they all do), but some of them get really hot, some have bad audio bad video, all sorts of complaints. This one works. (And I’m familiar with the accents of the tech support people – their offices are about 15 miles from my house, so we “tawk” the same language.)

What takes the place of a VCR to record their Telivision shows for later viewing?

I know I have that record DVD, but I know some of them also know that you can rent a PVR DVR your cable company, but a bit expensive. Can you buy one and when you do have to pay amonthly rate their cable company because I guess that takes the place of your digital box

Go to https: / / www3.tivo.com/store/home.do Do 1-2-3 steps. This is Tivo. You can buy the box as 2.5 percent to 3-4 lifetime service as a hundred. And you're forever to record what you see when you want!
