what is the best way to coax a baby hummingbird to open its beak?

have a dog and grabbed a baby and took the baby hummingbird her, but she opens her mouth to eat bugs … So what is the best way?? please answer.

If this bird is not injured he needs to return to the parents or take it to a local wildlife rehabilitation. The Parnet may still be around frantically looking for her baby. You can put the bird back where it was found, if you know the location and the father will take care of it. Place the bird in a tree or shrub which is relatively safe from predators .. and do not let your dog in this area! You are not qualified to care for this bird is illegal to have possession of it .. which are protected by law. nestlings of other species are difficult to keep alive, and hummingbirds, in particular, are extremely difficult to keep alive. If the father is gone or do not know where that dog captured the bird .. get a qualified … Fast! ~ http://www.tc.umn.edu/ devo0028/contact.htm

I have a satellite receiver input 2. "I can use a coaxial cable from the dish and use a splitter on the receiver?

Yes Only remember when you split a signal, there will be 3-12 dB of loss. If the receive level is too low, you will suffer bit errors during analog> recovery digital. You might want add a low noise amplifier before splitting the signal.

Best way to configure my CCTV / CATV?

Hello, I'm in a school that runs a TV show in the morning. I'm not sure how better to create our television to minimize loss. We have: 50 dB Amplifier Saw Filter Modulator Blonder Tongue Hi Pass filter several splitters Today we have our video source, which starts out as RGB. That happens by Blonder tongue and sent via coaxial cable about 100 feet above, a control booth. There (The picture looks good at that point by the way) the signal (channel 3 of the modulation) is combined with cable TV with a splitter. In an entry in the divisor is our Channel 3 programming, and the other is the TV AC high-pass filter (for channel 3 can enter .. ((that's our theory))). This combined signal is set 50 dB amplifier. The output is placed in a 3-way splitter. Two of them what we consider that the classrooms of high priority, and the third will be a lower priority (unless used) Area congregation. How can we make our system better? Thanks! Nick

Nick – It's hard to say exactly how this has connected from their description, but I will try to help. First of all, if I were you, I would like to make this setup a channel 3 only closed system circuit if possible. In this way, you can send your program to the modulator and then to the amplifier and then to the classroom. When troubleshooting, always break the system even the simplest connection and go from there. Try video and audio to an amplifier and modulator to TV output with everything else removed – is better? If so, keep it that way if possible. If you need cable TV channels also should really reschedule for a free channel modulator is higher than ch3 – maybe 88 or something.

Can someone explain what a CATV drop amplifier hooks into?

Living in an apartment, not to sure that I am getting the full cable signal. In one room, the tv did not have a good signal, picture and sound was somewhat fuzzy. I hooked into the TV external jack a clock radio as an external speaker with a built in antenna within the plug cord. The reception improvement is much better. Should I think that the connection from cable input to the tv, then the connection from the tv to the clock radio amplifies the signal due to the built in antenna, which would now be tied into a digital signal? If you can sort this out for me, it would be greatly appreciated.

Are you actually using CABLE? Or are you just attempting to get local TV channels by connecting to Cable’s antenna wiring ?

It sounds like you are just attempting to get the local TV channels with your setup, because the behavior of the system acts EXACTLY like you are….

And if you are PAYING for cable, then they have a bad connection to your apartment, and a DROP AMP will boost your signal, after they test your line for broken connections.

If you are only trying to get the local channels, then the CABLE connection is going to SHIELD your local TV signals from getting to your TV set properly…

You would want to disconnect the Cable from your TV set, and purchase a tabletop antenna to get your local TV channels.

coax cable to av cable question?

i have a vcr dvd recorder hooked up to my tv. it doesnt have a coax input so i need to run composite cables to it. unfortunately, im running a coax cable to my tv and the box setup all by itself so it sets there idle. is there some kind of cable or adapter that i can get to convert the coax into the composite cables?

There is a converter that costs around 60 dollars to convert your input. Its available at any bestbuy in the home theater section near the monster and rocket fish tv cables.

Directional Coupler
Directional Coupler?

What it means when it says 3dB DC, or 12dB DC, or 6dB DC? Is star coupler considered as directional coupler?
How to solve this example:
1) Given a 12dB directional coupler, How does it operate if an optical power of 1mW enters fr input pot #1. How much power exits from each of the terminal #2,#3, and #4? [no loss is considered]

2)What would happen at output terminal DC above if 2mW signal at a different wavelength enters fr second input pot #4?

3)How does a 4×4 DC operate? how can a 4X4 star coupler acts as a wavelength multiplexer?

A directional coupler couples (splits) the RF microwave power only if it travels in the forward direction and does not split if the power travels in the reverse direction.

A 3dB DC splits 1/2 of the incoming power into the couple port. A 6dB DC splits 1/4 of the incoming power into the couple port. And a 12dB DC splits 1/16 of the incoming power into the couple port.

A star coupler (one input port to many output ports) may or may not be a directional coupler.

Signal Meter
How do I test turn signals that aren’t working with an ohm meter?

Always give year, make, engine size and model # when asking questions. Nothing is the same.
-To check the bulbs – rx1 – one test lead to ground (metal side of bulb). The other test lead to positive (end of bulb). If it’s good – very little resistance.
-When tesing for open circuits (not making connection) rx1 = 0 is good connection.
-To check if socket has a good ground – rx1 – One test lead to inside edge of socket. The other lead to ground on vehical.
-To check if positive of socket is good – rx1 – With key off. One lead to inside center of socket. The other lead to connector of wire harness.
-Anything after that, it’s wire diagram time. Buy a shop manual.
-rx1 checks for continuity. When there are no breaks in the circuit, resistence = zero.
-Check continuity from the turn signal switch to the bulbs (key off).
-Check for continuity from flasher relay to turn signal switch (key off).
-Check for battery voltage to flasher relay (key on).
-If every thing checks out so far, with the key on and signal switch pushed L or R, you should feel the flasher relay click on and off.
-Don’t forget to check the turn signal fuse.
