Calling all intelligent people, or just people who know what they're talking … ?

house.it moved to new sky dish at home! terrestrial TV signal in my area to extinguish in august.was led to believe that you could get Freeview channels without subscription through sky.friend had sky finally canceled, obviously cut everything that was paying for, but while viewing card is in freeview channels.so still have gotten a sky box card form of satellites used to make dish is in the menu on the right says signal strength direction.sky 3 / 4 of said section varies.locked quality unlocked, then when the signal strength bar that says okay, then go bar signal strength bar blank and a closed, unlocked says again.do need for signal reception? if so how? basically going to use this for my basic channels before switchover! Somebody help me here?

Sat Cable

I have a JVC LT-32EX18 LCD tv and hoked it up to the SAT cable from the settopbox. I can only get one channel?

Hooked it up to the SAT cable and ran the automatic channel selector, but it only captured one channel.?? The TV the cable was hooked to is an old CRT, and the NEW TV is supposed to be PAL and NTSC compatible.

Well the satellite box is only supposed to output Channel 3, and the Satellite box does all the channel-changing……

That’s why you only get one channel on your TV set…..

So, once that’s done, now you need to connect up either an HDMI cable or COMPONENT cable from your satellite’s Video output connections to get HD signals to your HD TV set…..

Because Channel 3 is still a LOW DEF signal out of your Satellite box anyways……they provide that output signal to be used for the long distance runs to other TV sets that are not HD TVs…..

And that box should be an HD satellite box (with the HD logo on the front of the box)

Can anyone suggest a DVB-C PVR / DVR. Please also suggest a dual tuner. ?

I am looking to buy a DVB-C based recorder digital video. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. I have no intention of building a PC based one. I want a stand-alone PVR / DVR. In addition, something that is subscription free EPG and can pick up the cable company. Thank you.

If you live in the UK, Virgin Media, have a monopoly and they have decided that the team will only rent them can be connected to the cable lines to receive subscription programming. but if you only want FTA (free) programming, then you should be able to get an Amazon or eBay.

Fta boxes programming?

I bought a brand Coolsat fta box, I thought it only hooked up, but when I learned that I have had to program. My question is how I can do this and where I can get the codes listed. I'm in the U.S. if that matters for programming. Also, I have Dish Network today.

Well you have some reading to do but not much. Because your dish is already pointed out by you, half of the problem is now resolved. Go to www.ftabins.net and you can find your files. TLC comes and goes so you know. We are currently experiencing a blackout of channels payment to be resolved at some future time. Good luck and remember it's a hobby lol.

want to install a TV in my plate of balconies facing north, but the direction is requd southeast, the solutions?

Living in an apartment, no other access than the northeast, north or northwest. Dish TV operator wants southeast ..

If you can not find a place to mount the plate in the direction correct, then you're pretty screwed unless they were allowed to erect a small pole near her apartment, which will provide the leadership necessary for installation. One should also note that you will need to get cable from the antenna to your TV. The other only thing I can think is that if you ask the apartment block whole if everyone wants to get and pay-TV has a community facility (known as MATV System) – this will allow a dish to be installed on the roof departments and allow the choice of pay television. how can i connect my DIGITAL SATELLITE RECIEVER to mu PC using RS 232C cable?

I have no idea about it.I am doing this for first time.Please help me out .

The RS232 port on satellite receivers etc is for technicials to use for diagnostices NOT to transfer the images to a PC

RD232 is WAY WAY WAY too slow to send video

U need to use a video output and also install avideo input solution in the PC, to use it.

Cheaper and simpler to have a cheap 2nd TV

How do I get FTA dish network anybody know?

First it is not a network unless you are thinking about the Dish Network satellite cable provider. FTA means free to air and can be received by anyone with a Free to air receiver and a satellite dish. There are suppliers such as Skyvision.com and others that sell the systems. These types of TV programs are usually from other countries and I am pretty sure broadcasted in their native language.
