Satellite equipment for television channels in Europe?

Ok could someone give a valuable insight and counsel, I am trying to receive and view (but no thanks porno) channels in Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, Iceland and Estonia. Now I know that Poland is mainly on Hotbird 13E alignment and can be received with 60cm dish. But for me to receive all TV feeds from the countries mentioned above – which team would be best for that, I mean standard plate with quad LNB or a motorized dish? What would you recommend receiver (Technomate, Humax, etc) and receiver would be better if I was to get a Cyfra + / Polsat card for encrypted channels (ie pay channels) I am also located in Yorkshire for the size of plate is taken into account. Thanks in advance girls and boys:)

A difficult question! You should have a motorized system to meet all your needs. The most difficult to get are: Estonia, others Sirius@4.8 this, and Icelandic, found only one @ 1 degree west. As for others, there are packages, and are not free (FTA) channels. You should consult an installer specialized to solve the complexity of all your needs. Some online information sites below.

Upgrading to Sky +?

Currently I have a standard Sky box, but when I moved house, the new property and was equipped with a quad LNB and 2 sources, dish is ready to connect to a Sky + box. Obviously I'm using only one of them at the time. When I go to the website of the sky and apply to upgrade my box to your Sky + box £ 99, I do not mind paying, but there is a cost of £ 60 Intallation standard. I am quite capable of screwing in the plate 2 channel myself. Is there anyway to get Sky + without £ 60 fee for installation? Thank you very much Mike

buy the Sky + box out of another person other than the sky we did and that works a treat :-)

If you go from the satellite to the receiver with coaxial cable …?

If you go from the satellite to the receiver with coaxial cable, component video television (not coaxial): It seems you can not get better quality output than input.

The signal enters the picture through coaxial cable, but the box video converter has been built on it, which transmits the signal at the outputs of different resolution. If you have an HD box for satellite, and HDTV, you need to connect via an HDMI or component video, due to their ability to solve more other connections. If your TV has HDMI or component, S-Video is the next step down, followed compounds, then the coaxial cable. Hope this helped, I get much more elaborate, but wanted to keep base.

How can i combine my dish sat/ cable tv signal over a single coax cable?

I currently have a dish 500 satellite with a quad LNB. A single coax cable is running to my sat box. I also have a single cable tv signal running to a tv in a different room.

u can get what we call a diplexer, u will need 2. it looks like a 2 way splitter, put ur satellite in the one that says dc pass (might have a line on it) and cable or ant on the other end, the single end of the diplexer will be the line running towards ur tv. ..then at the tv remove the satellite line from box and put in single end of another diplexer. the dc pass end will go to sat in on satellite box and the other end will go to ant in on sat box. just turn off sat box and it will switch to cable/antenna. u can get these at best buy/ circut city

Can I see the sky in 2 different rooms of an LNB?

I have 1 LNB and 2 boxes. Can I use a 2-Way Satellite Splitter to see the 2 TV different channels at the same time, I can not change my quad LNB to LNB as the sky dish is on the roof of the house. Thanks

No, it can – the image will remain freezing. You can take a coaxial cable from the back of the box to watch the same channel in a different room. Otherwise get a man on TV to replace the LNB.
