Why a USB external drive will only work when connected to a usb certain prot on my pc?

I have a usb external hard drive. I have opened many USB 2.0. This unit will only work from certain ports. Any reason for this?

may depend on where the USB ports are sometimes.ie Sometimes the back behave unlike any in the front (as run from a USB head) for power supply in the front are low. Another possibility is defective USB ports …. No other items have the same problem? if so defective ports. Another issue is that power USB devices msot drain any power from the USB and has a cap so that each pair of ports usually given only if 500MA device and drains all the other issue to have problems. without knowing the motherboard I can not give any additional information.

I need to convert video from my analog Hi8 to digital camera via USB on a laptop?

What hardware is available to do this? I have USB 2.0 and fire wire on my laptop. But because it is a laptop I can not add any video card additionl capture.

How I can use my MEM. stick if I have a usb port? Is there perhaps a serial to USB adapter?

I bought this computer but now has no type of usb ports. I know that there is a USB to serial adapter so I think there must be a Serial to USB Adapter. Please help. Thanks in advance. I have Win 98 SE and 1 port Printer

How I can test a boat motor switch or kill switch, no power of the boat, the battery right?

1998 90hp Force was running large, entered the spring and lost all power, I thought I would start with the ignition switch or kill switch? Thanks

The kill switch has nothing to do with the battery – only disable the short circuit spark ignition module. If it is defective and crank the engine starts up the battery is depleted, but not start. Find the 20 amp fuse in an inline fuse holder red wire on a high in the port side of the engine, which comes from the plug from the main deck. Disconnect, clean and reconnect the cables to the battery post – corrosion can be hidden between two connectors there. By "clean" I mean to make 'em shine, use sandpaper if necessary. For "reconnect" I mean tight tight tight – if you have wing nuts, pliers used in them. Loose connections kill rectifiers. Jiggle manage change – perhaps the neutral safety switch is getting sticky. After it is out of the multimeter and test the switch.

I’m going to be getting an airsoft gun and I was wondering what gun should I get? Should I get a echo1 Scar or should I get a G4-18 Carbine. Which one do you think is better

"I can change a port for the cable to a port on the phone?

I used to have cox internet and now I have att and when cox installed on the ground floor Internet flipped a phone port to a port for the cable and now I want to return to a cable port so how I do it.

not sure what you is trying to do, but the use RG6 coaxial cable and telephone cable using CAT 3 UTP cable … can not use RG6 cable for voice (telephone)

I bought a USB PDA / Serial Adapter for my computer, but will not let me install the driver?

I have Windows XP. The cable consists of DYNEX. My computer says "Windows can not open this file" File: SERSPL.VXD then gives me two options 1. use the web to find an appropriate file 2. program select from a list. Well, I've tried them all on the list and none of them work. Option 1 leads me to a file association with Microsoft Windows. It also says that file type: unknown Description: Windows does not recognize this file type. I tried calling Dynex company and have been on hold for about 45 min. Please help. Thanks

You may also need to have the USB cable connected to one of the USB ports on the back of the team, not the front. I do not know why but for some reason it makes a difference.
