What’s up with the FTA recivers?
okay so all of the viewsat coolsat pansat and all of the other fta recivers are messed up and i was just wondering is the N3 files for Viewsat and those things or are we gonna have to buy a new reciever??
If you want to receive that N3 programming, you should get a Dish or Bell TV receive and subscription.
Those receivers are messed up because people were stealing TV with them, and the providers changed to N3 to thwart that to some degree.
You won’t need a new receiver to legally receive programming, just a Ku dish to aim to the legal FTA satellites.

What is a better satellite, Viewsat or Coolsat receiver?
It all depends what you’re using it for.
If you are planning on setting up a TRUE FTA system , meaning that your not using it for Dish network or BEV, then Coolsat would be my choice since it does an excellent job of Blind scanning frequencies and can power a motor correctly on dishes that move from satellite to satellite.
Viewsat has a huge following , but many of those consumers sole purpose of owning one was for illegally getting Dish Network , those who bought one for TRUE FTA were dissapointed with some of the features and lack of support for legal applications.

Yes I have a Viewsat Ultra VS2000 loaded the new bin: PFTAUSW-070801U.PGM and provided that I turn it I have no sound or video. The screen sais Autoroll Processing … My signal is around 70, and the quality of about 80. I tried everything and I can not get work. Anyone who's good with FTA Receivers please help!
Just Let It Roll for some time. It should be fine. Mine took about a minute later loading the file and is well ever since.

We recently began using ViewSat Ultra Light FTA receivers and I can only get 2 hours of the EPG at the time. I’ve gone into User Settings and set it to the max, but I still get only 2 hours. How can I fix this?
