Toshiba Satellite P305 Set-up buttons for shutting down computer? How can I change the way I shut down?
When I first got my Toshiba, it offered me options for using the ON button as a way to shut-off the computer. I want to return to WHERE that options was. How do I reset the way my computer shuts down?
First go to your control panel. Then open up your power properties. Now select the “advanced” tab. On the lower portion of the window should be options related to what you are looking for. Click the drop down box and make your selection. One word of caution, I used this method for shutting down my computer for a while and noticed that when I shut down using the power button, the system didn’t save my user settings, i.e. if I changed where my desktop icons were, it wouldn’t stay, etc. I don’t know if this problem still exists with windows, but thought you should know.
